Xiaomi Unveils Electric Scooter 6 Lite with 25 km Range and 500W Motor

Xiaomi has officially announced the Electric Scooter 6 Lite as the most affordable option in its new Electric Scooter 6 series. This launch brings a compact option designed primarily for short urban commutes, as confirmed by Xiaomi’s official product page and supply chain updates.

A Budget-Friendly Step Down in Xiaomi’s Scooter Lineup

The Electric Scooter 6 Lite slots below the Electric Scooter 6 and 6 Max models, targeting riders who need a lighter, accessible vehicle for city travel. Compared to its siblings, the 6 Lite offers a shorter range and lighter build, focusing on practicality over power. While options like the Xiaomi 6 Max push for extended range, this Lite variant appeals to regular short-distance commuters who prioritize ease of use and transportability.

Mid-Range Specs Catered to Urban Riders

The scooter is powered by a Hall-effect brushless motor delivering 300 watts of continuous output and a peak of 500 watts. It reaches up to 25 kilometers per hour and can tackle inclines with up to 15 percent grade. Its 216 watt-hour lithium-ion battery provides an estimated range of 25 kilometers when ridden in standard mode at a 15 km/h pace. The range trims down to roughly 20 kilometers under sport mode where full speed is maintained.

Durability and handling on rougher city surfaces are addressed through 25-millimeter dual-spring front suspension and 10-inch pneumatic tires. Safety features include a front drum brake complemented by a rear electronic anti-lock braking system. Additional design elements such as the 2.5-watt front headlight cast illumination up to 15 meters ahead, while a rear brake light flashes during braking to alert nearby pedestrians and vehicles.

A small display positioned between the handlebars relays speed, current riding mode, and battery status. Riders can further integrate the scooter with the Xiaomi Home app, allowing real-time monitoring of battery health, trip history, tire pressure, as well as the ability to lock the motor and modulate energy recovery settings for extended battery efficiency.

Practical Build and Durable Design

The frame is constructed from high-strength carbon structural steel providing robustness while maintaining a weight of approximately 18.1 kilograms. It supports riders weighing up to 100 kilograms and is suitable for users between 140 and 200 centimeters in height, aged 16 to 50. The unit carries IPX4 water resistance certification for the body and IPX6 for the battery compartment, offering reasonable protection against splashes and heavy rain. When folded, the scooter measures 1140 by 512 by 555 millimeters, making it convenient for storage in tight urban environments.

Pricing Still Under Wraps

Xiaomi has yet to announce the official price for the 6 Lite globally. Considering its positioning as the entry-level model in the lineup, we expect it to be competitively priced to rival other popular electric scooters on the market, such as offerings from Segway or Xiaomi’s own higher-tier models. The Electric Scooter 6 Lite should appeal to budget-conscious urban riders seeking a reliable and compact scooter without the premium cost of extended-range features.

We will continue monitoring the pricing and availability for the US and global markets.
