Huawei has begun selling the Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold in Europe, bringing its highest end smartwatch finish outside China with a €3,299 price. The model first appeared in late 2025 and was later confirmed for a broader rollout, and it now expands the Watch Ultimate Design lineup that already includes a black and gold variant.
Purple and gold, built around premium materials
The Royal Gold edition uses a purple and gold color scheme and a case made from zirconium based liquid metal, which Huawei says is designed to resist corrosion and wear. Huawei also points to a hollow case structure intended to reduce weight, a practical detail for a watch that leans heavily into luxury materials.

Gold details, sapphire protection, and a titanium strap
Huawei says the ceramic bezel includes both 18K and 24K gold accents, while the crown is plated with 18K gold. The watch face is covered by sapphire glass, and the bundled strap is a purple and gold titanium alloy band positioned for long term durability, signaling that this is meant to be worn as a daily statement piece rather than a collector item that stays in a box.
A 1.5 inch LTPO AMOLED and phone free calling
Huawei equips the watch with a 1.5 inch LTPO AMOLED display and emphasizes high brightness for outdoor visibility. The watch supports eSIM, which enables calls directly from the wrist without a phone, and it includes AI based noise reduction aimed at improving call clarity in louder environments.
Gesture controls and camera triggering without touching the screen
Smart gesture controls are part of the pitch, with Huawei saying users can answer calls, control apps, or trigger a phone camera remotely using hand movements. For a device at this price, these features will be judged on reliability, since luxury buyers tend to have low tolerance for gimmicks that misfire in real use.
Health tracking leans on a 60 second snapshot
Huawei is also highlighting health features, including Health Glance, which it says can generate a summary of 10 key health metrics in about 60 seconds. The company lists heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress among the included indicators, alongside broader activity tracking for sports like running, cycling, and golf.
Dive focused positioning goes beyond a water resistance badge
The Watch Ultimate Design Royal Gold is rated for dives up to 150 meters and includes a sonar based underwater communication feature intended to let divers send simple messages while submerged. Huawei also says battery life depends on usage mode, with extended endurance options aimed at outdoor and dive use.
Pricing and availability put it in true luxury territory
The watch is listed at €3,299 in European markets including Spain, France, and Germany through Huawei’s online store. Huawei has also indicated a UK launch in the coming weeks with a listed price of £2,999.99.
The Daily Tech Lens take
A €3,299 smartwatch lives or dies on craft, comfort, and long term support, not just a spec list. If you want a high end wearable that can stand in for a phone during workouts, offer serious outdoor features, and still read as jewelry, Huawei is clearly targeting that buyer. The harder question is value over time: battery aging, repair pathways, and software longevity matter more at this tier than they do with mainstream smartwatches, so buyers should weigh ownership costs and service access as much as the materials and features.
