Motorola’s next Edge phone could be built around two specs that matter in daily use: a very bright high refresh OLED and a battery capacity that would stand out in the premium midrange. A new leak attributed to tipster Evan Blass claims to reveal most of the Edge 70 Fusion’s key hardware ahead of any official announcement from Motorola.
If the leak is accurate, the Edge 70 Fusion will ship with a 6.78 inch quad curved AMOLED display at 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The same details point to up to 5,200 nits peak brightness and HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Peak brightness numbers vary by test method and viewing conditions, but even allowing for marketing variance, Motorola appears to be signaling an outdoor first display strategy.

Durability is another major claim. The Edge 70 Fusion is said to carry MIL STD 810 certification and both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. IP68 generally covers submersion resistance, while IP69 is typically associated with higher pressure water jets, and the combination suggests Motorola wants this model to read as tougher than a typical curved screen phone.
The camera details in the leak focus on the main sensor rather than a full rear stack. The Edge 70 Fusion is tipped to use a 50 megapixel Sony Lytia sensor as its primary camera, paired with a 32 megapixel front camera. There is no mention of the secondary rear cameras, which is often where brands cut costs with smaller ultrawide sensors or low utility macro modules, so the full imaging story will depend on what else is included.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. The leak points to two configurations: 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. That storage ceiling may disappoint power users who want 512GB options, but it aligns with how many midrange devices are priced and segmented.
Software is said to be Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UX, along with a promised three years of OS upgrades. Update policy has become a major competitive lever against Samsung and Google, and three years is credible for this tier, though it will still be a step behind the longest support windows from the category leaders.
Battery capacity is the spec that could define the Edge 70 Fusion if it lands as stated. The leak claims a 7,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging. At this capacity, the phone could deliver multi day endurance for many users, but larger batteries often come with tradeoffs in weight and thickness, and those details are not included here.
Motorola is also leaning on materials and color as part of the pitch. The Edge 70 Fusion is described as using a nylon and linen inspired back panel and Pantone branded colorways, including Orient Blue, Sporting Green, Blue Surf, Country Air, and Silhouette. Motorola’s recent Pantone collaborations have been aimed at making midrange devices feel more distinct in a sea of glass slabs.
There is no official launch date, but the leak suggests the phone could debut within the current quarter. That timing would fit Motorola’s recent cadence, following Edge 70 releases across multiple markets in late 2025.
We see the Edge 70 Fusion, as described, as a practical play rather than a spec flex for its own sake. A big battery, strong durability ratings, and a bright 144Hz OLED are features you notice every day, and they can matter more than camera module count. The deciding factors will be pricing, camera consistency beyond the main sensor, and repair realities, because a curved OLED and high durability claims only help buyers if parts and service remain accessible after the honeymoon period.
